Board approves salary increase for 2013-2014
June 28, 2013 — The CFISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the administration’s recommendation for an employee salary increase for 2013-2014 during a special-called meeting on June 27.
The announcement of the raise falls in line with the Board’s priority for attracting and retaining quality staff through a competitive salary.
The Board has approved a starting salary of $48,000 for beginning teachers, speech pathologists and nurses, while experienced teachers, speech pathologists and nurses will receive an average increase of 3.85 percent according to years of experience. The Board also approved a 5.0-percent compensation structural adjustment of the minimum, midpoint and maximum for administrative/professional, clerical/technical and hourly support pay grades. Employees within the administrative/professional pay classification will receive a salary increase based upon 3 percent of the new midpoint. Employees within the clerical/technical and hourly support pay classifications will receive a salary increase of 3.5 percent of the new midpoint.
“CFISD is very fortunate to have one of the most competent and dedicated group of employees in Texas, a tremendous benefit to our students and taxpayers,” said Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, in a message to employees. “This pay increase for teachers and other employees is more than well-deserved.”
Employees will be able to view pay statements showing their salary for 2013-2014 on the Employee Access Center (EAC) beginning in August or September.
