CFISD names new principal for Hancock Elementary
July 19, 2012—Nancy Rogers, a classroom management consultant in the student services department, has been named the new principal at Hancock Elementary School. Rogers replaces Louanne Shaffer, who accepted a position at a national consulting firm in June. Rogers will begin her new role on Monday, July 23.
“I am honored to serve as a principal in Cy-Fair ISD, and am especially honored and excited to be named the new principal of Hancock,” Rogers said. “I look forward to forging relationships with all stakeholders and ensuring the academic success of all students.”
Rogers came to CFISD in 2007 after serving 15 years as a classroom teacher, seven years as an assistant principal and nine years as an elementary principal in New Orleans Public Schools. Since arriving in CFISD, Rogers has served as a reading specialist at Holbrook Elementary School and a behavior specialist at Duryea and M. Robinson elementary schools prior to her current position with student services.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Dillard University in New Orleans and a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of New Orleans.
