Langham Creek hurdler captures 2 gold medals

July 11, 2012—Langham Creek High School senior track and field athlete Skylar Ross-Ransom followed up her state championship in the 100-meter hurdles event by winning the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles event at the New Balance Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held June 15 in Greensboro, N.C.
Ross-Ransom’s time of 13.59 seconds improved upon her 13.74-second state title time, giving her the top time in Texas and the No. 6 time in the nation.
The Lobos’ star went on to win the gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.92 seconds at the USA Track & Field Youth Outdoor Championships, held June 30-July 1 at the University of Texas-Arlington.
Ross-Ransom will now prepare for the AAU Junior Olympics, scheduled for July 31-Aug. 8 at Turner Stadium in Humble.
