December 11, 2007 — The Cypress Woods High School Key Club raised approximately $14,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during its inaugural fall fund-raising lock-in on Friday, Nov. 30.
The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to grant wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical diseases. The Key Club’s goal was to raise at least $10,000 to grant two wishes, and each member was asked to collect pledges. More than 200 Key Club members participated to exceed their goal.
“This was a great achievement and it provided Cy Woods Key Club members an opportunity to gain a sense of fulfillment by helping others in need,” said Key Club president Mathew Dominguez. “A major key to the successful event was all the help and hard work of all the parents and volunteers.”
