August 13, 2007—The district’s annual seminar, How to do Business with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 7, at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road). Coffee and a continental breakfast sponsored by the Texas Copperheads will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m., with the seminar to follow from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
The program will provide information to the public about CFISD, its partnership with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce and the process required to be a vendor in the district. Selected topics for the seminar include Legal Issues of Public Purchasing, How to Enter the Bid Process and Meet the Purchasing Staff.
Speakers and presenters will include Dr. David Anthony, superintendent of schools; George Hobson, associate superintendent for business services; Marney Collins Sims, general counsel; and Colleen Wells, assistant superintendent for support services.
“This seminar is also a great time for district administrators, buyers and businessmen and women to network and learn about the community and city,” said Pam Scott, Partners in Education director.
